Bentley Continental GT from a private seller in Abu Dhabi – red flags or am I being paranoid?
Quote from nickmadison on May 25, 2026, 7:23 amSo there's this 2016 Continental GT V8 that popped up on Dubizzle, looks stunning in photos, owner claims it's got full service history from Al Tayer, but when I asked for the actual invoices he got kinda evasive and said most of them were "lost during a move". Yeah right. I've wanted a Bentley since I was a kid but I'm not exactly made of money, so a big repair bill would absolutely ruin me. I've been reading up on what typically goes wrong on these, like the air suspension struts, turbo coolant lines, and those dreaded timing chain tensioners. I know I should probably get a proper specialist to look at it before I hand over anything, which is why I'm considering a Bentley pre purchase check Dubai that covers everything from boost leaks to checking if the odometer has been tampered with. Has anyone here actually gone through with a dedicated inspection on a used Bentley in the UAE? I'm trying to figure out if they're thorough enough to catch things like worn driveshaft boots or early signs of mechatronic failure in the ZF transmission. The car is priced about 15k lower than similar ones, which makes me even more suspicious. Should I run or just get it checked and see?
